Reassessment of plant growth regulator Meteor

We sought your views on an application to reassess the restrictions on the use of Meteor, a substance used to thin pip fruit.

AgriNova NZ Limited has applied for the reassessment. They want to reduce the maximum application rate control and for the restricted entry interval for workers to be re-evaluated. Reducing buffer zone restrictions will also be considered in this application.

This is being conducted as a modified reassessment. This means only certain aspects of the approval will be re-evaluated.

On 12 November 2018, a decision-making committee decided that grounds for the reassessment existed because there was ‘information showing a significant change of use’.

The public submission period for this reassessment application closed on 01 May 2019.

Further updates on the next steps in this application process will be posted on this page in due course.
