Feedback sought on new Stockholm and Rotterdam Convention chemicals

In June 2018, we asked for your views on a proposal that New Zealand updates its implementation of international agreements on banning and controlling some of the world’s most toxic and persistent substances.

We reviewed the feedback we received and provided the Minister for the Environment with our recommendations on proposed amendments to the HSNO Act. We also gave the Minister information about the submissions received.

The Minister considered our advice and recommended to Cabinet amendments to the HSNO Act. The relevant changes to the HSNO Act came into effect on 18 December 2018.
