Feedback sought on new Stockholm and Rotterdam Convention chemicals

We recently asked for your views on a proposal that New Zealand updates its implementation of international agreements on banning and controlling some of the world’s most toxic and persistent substances.

We reviewed the feedback we received and provided the Minister for the Environment with our recommendations on proposed amendments to the HSNO Act. We also gave the Minister information about the submissions received.

The Minister will consider our advice and may decide to recommend to Cabinet amendments to the HSNO Act. If his recommendations are accepted, the changes to the HSNO Act must be made by 18 December 2018.
