Farewell and thank you to Professor Nick Roskruge

We acknowledge the significant contribution of Hazardous Substances and New Organisms (HSNO) Committee member, Professor Nick Roskruge, who retired from the committee on 31 March 2021.

Professor Roskruge was appointed to the HSNO Committee on 1 August 2014 and was previously a member of Ngā Kaihautū Tikanga Taiao, the EPA's Māori advisory committee from 2008 to 2014.

He was also the Tumuaki (Chair) of Ngā Kaihautū Tikanga Taiao from July 2012 to June 2013.

As a HSNO Committee member, Professor Roskruge played an integral part in providing knowledge and expertise in resource management, Māori world perspectives and horticulture to many of the applications considered by the HSNO Committee.

He participated in over fifty decision-making committees, and chaired New Zealand's first virtual hearing for a new organisms application.
