Project types
Listed projects
These projects are listed in Schedule 2 of the Act. Some listed projects do not appear in the table below as the applicants have elected not to proceed with their application, for example due to electing to proceed under another consenting pathway (such as the Resource Management Act 1991), or because the scope and timing of the project has changed. Currently there are no listed projects being processed through the fast-track consenting application process.
Applicants can lodge resource consent applications or notices of requirement directly with the EPA.

Referred projects
These projects must meet eligibility criteria and be referred by the Minister for the Environment, through an Order in Council. The project is then added to the list of referred projects shown on the COVID-19 Recovery (Fast-track Consenting) Referred Projects Order 2020.
Once approved by an Order in Council, applicants can lodge applications or notices of requirement with the EPA, however it is likely that not every applicant will choose to proceed with the fast-track consenting process.
