The expert consenting panel appointed to determine the Silverlight Studios - Wanaka application has made its decision. Read the decision report and information on appeals.
On 8 December 2021, the expert consenting panel granted, subject to conditions, resource consents to Silverlight Studios Limited to build a film studio with associated facilities at 707 Wanaka-Luggate Highway.
The expert consenting panel’s decision can be appealed to the High Court in whole or in part on questions of law only.
Any of the following persons may appeal:
(a) the consent applicant or requiring authority, as the case requires
(b) any relevant local authority
(c) the Attorney-General
(d) any person or group that provided comments in response to an invitation given under clause 17(2)
(e) any person who has an interest in the decision appealed against that is greater than that of the general public.
A notice of appeal must be filed with the Registrar of the High Court within 15 working days after the date the person is notified of the expert consenting panel’s decision. A copy of the notice of appeal must also be served on the EPA. Appeals can be served on the EPA by sending them to Silverlight.email@example.com or by post to:
