Kohimarama Comprehensive Care Retirement Village
A fast-track consenting referred project to construct a retirement village in Kohimarama, Auckland by Ryman Healthcare Ltd.
The Kohimarama Comprehensive Care Retirement Village (the project), owned by Ryman Healthcare Limited, involves the construction of a retirement village in Kohimarama, eastern Auckland, on a currently undeveloped site accessed from Kohimarama Rd and John Rymer Place.
The village will include 173 hospital and dementia care beds and 123 independent apartments.
On 7 October 2020, the Minister for the Environment decided to refer the project to an expert consenting panel under Section 24 of the Act. On 13 November 2020, Schedule 4 was inserted into the COVID-19 Recovery (Fast-track Consenting) Referred Projects Order 2020 (the “referral order”), by clause 4 of the COVID-19 Recovery (Fast-track Consenting) Referred Projects Amendment Order (No 2) 2020.
This was in order to give effect to the above decision, pursuant to Section 26 of the Act.
