Engaging councils in processes for proposals of national significance

A small working group of senior council and Local Government New Zealand staff has been established by the EPA. The Terms of Reference sets out the purpose and role of the working group.

The working group is currently developing suggested mechanisms and processes for the EPA and councils to use in relation to processing proposals of national significance. The outcomes of this work including any documents that are developed will be available here.

The EPA will be establishing a relationship with all councils, but initially will be prioritising discussions and processes with those councils where applications for proposals of national significance are likely to be lodged in the near future.
